On Saturday, July 29, 2017 our beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt and Grandmother was called home to be with the Lord. Valerie was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Gloria and Jesse Tharrington on May 11, 1967. She dedicated eight years to the U.S. Navy working in environmental services. Valerie will be missed for her loving and kind heart. She was always willing to help anyone she could in need with no strings attached. She had a beautiful smile, goofy laugh and beautiful eyes. Mom loved her soap operas, music, she loved (Weekend and Boy II Men), seafood (she loved sushi), watching T.V. with her son and most of all she loved spending time with her family, children and grandchildren. Valerie leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Angela Crum and Annette Glenn (Marcus); son, Anthony McKee; sister, Freda Tharrington; brother-in-law, Sherrard Davis; her beloved aunt, Florence Warren (who misses her dearly and misses speaking on the phone daily); aunt, Ellen Brickhouse; childhood friends, Shirley Hill and Stephanie Harrell; grandchildren, Isaiah, Jada, Marnarie and Ayden and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Sonja A Newkirk You will truly be missed love you and may continue to watch over the family
