Interment Information

Recardo Sherman Lewis Jr (Rick or Richie ),our beloved son was born on September 18th,1979 in Portsmouth General Hospital, Portsmouth Virginia. He was only 6 lb. and 6 oz. with slick black hair; he was beautiful to me, you see I only wanted a boy. Recardo was a child who always wanted everyone to be happy. Growing up he loved to play video games with his cousins, they’re all here today. Recardo like his namesake his father, was bossy always having an opinion and a solution on matters. I will truly miss that about him. His Aunt Zee loved what she called his beautiful slow smile. He attended Churchland High School. Recardo worked at Gwaltney Meat Packing Company until they closed. He also worked at Dollar Tree as a forklift driver. He was predeceased in death by two grandmother’s, three grandfather’s, two aunt’s, and three uncles and several close cousins. Recardo is survived by his wife, Selina Lewis; his mother, Willie Austin; his father, Recardo Lewis Sr; his beloved grandmother Ollie Scudder, and a host of aunt’s, uncles, and many many cousins and friends. Recardo loved his big family and being around them eating, talking, and laughing. He wasn’t much of a dancer but he loved all kinds of music. If he had one or two under his belt, he might even do a little twist for you. When it came to sports, you couldn’t talk to him about any NFL team except the Chicago Bears. Recardo was also a lover of art. We would be remised if we didn’t mention Fluffy the dog. He absolutely loved Fluffy. He would come from Richmond to pick him up and take him back to spend the weekend and bring Fluffy back on Monday, like he had joint custody of a child. Recardo was truly an easy going person who loved people and they loved him. He will truly truly be missed by all.
