Kenneth Christopher Jeffries III was born in Norfolk, Virginia to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth and Constance Jeffries on May 30, 1969. As a child growing up in Portsmouth, Kenneth resided in the area known as Cavalier Manor. He attended: Lakeview Elementary School; Waters Middle School; and Manor High School, graduating in 1987. His family and friends affectionately nicknamed him “Ken-Ken”. After graduating from high school, Ken attended Norfolk State University where he majored in Architecture, and pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, in the spring of 1992. He remained active in the fraternity and within the Hampton Roads’ communities throughout his life. As a student at NSU, Kenneth also worked as a licensed barber at Kappatal Cuts Barber Shop. He became a Master Barber and eventually owned a Kappatal Cuts Barber shop in Portsmouth, Virginia. Ken also attended Mt. Calvary Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. He was a skilled and lifelong fisherman. Ken loved to fish, spend time with his children, and could be found occasionally using his boogie-board at the beach. He was also passionate about nurturing and caring for tropical fish as pets, while maintaining his salt-water fish tank. Four years ago, Kenneth started a new career as a Customer Associate at Home Depot, and quickly received positive recognition for his strong work ethic, motivation, and magnetic personality that everyone he met just loved. He earned a position as Manager and remained in that position until the time of his death. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Faith Jeffries; his children Terrell Jeffries, Armani Branch, Imani Branch, Trinity Jeffries; his mother Constance Jeffries; several loving cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and the brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.

Kim Turner Words cannot describe this loss to our family. Ken Ken was more than a cousin he was our brother. His dad and my mom were siblings and we were raised to be closer than most brothers and sisters. He will never be forgotten and will surely be missed with his smile, laugh and jokes. This is a hard blow to our family, but he is reunited with his Dad, Grandaddy, Grandma, Aunt Eunice, Uncle Walt and Robert. Rest easy Ken and we'll be reunited one day. Love you. Kim Turner

Kevin Rodgers To Ken Ken's family... I am so sorry for your tremendous loss. Ken was my fellow Black Man, Spartan, Barber, roommate, and Friend. Ken Ken was an honest friend. He told me when I was slipping, he told me when I did good. He taught me about the Tidewater area, he taught me how to maintain a cast iron skillet. he taught me how good Moosehead beer tasted with steak. He cussed me out when I needed it most, because he was my friend. Ken Ken was a GOOD MAN. I cherish the memories now. I wish we could have made a few more. Rest in Peace Ken Ken
