Jasper was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Jasper and Mattie Brown. He was predeceased by his brother Ernest Whitaker, sister Letha Smith and son Michael Norman. Jasper, a proud Vietnam Veteran served in the United States Army for 26 years. As a decorated Soldier, he was awarded the “Good Conduct Medal 7 times and earned the Gold Recruiter Sapphire Badge. Jasper was educated in the Norfolk public school system and returned to his roots after retiring from the Army and became a well-known business owner of the renowned Brown’s Convenient Store. Jasper was married to Paulette Brown (West) on August 10, 1991; they were married for 26 years. A faithful member of First Baptist Church Bolling Brook, Jasper served as a Deacon and Treasurer. JB’s favorite pastime was traveling the states playing Pinochle with his Pinochle club, “The Young Guns,” and a member of The American Legion Post 190. JB leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Paulette, daughters: Tina Brown, Felicia Brown-Napoleon (Tarijuana), Genene Brown, Latoya Carrington-White (Trevor), Gwen McDow (Calvin) and stepdaughter, Caryn Merriweather (Henry); sons: Jasper Brown III (Theresa), Douglas Brown (Loretta), Kelvin Brown, Eric Brown (Cassandra), Navarre Brandon Brown (LaTonya), Davon Yonkers (Danielle) and step-son, Edrick James (Michelle); brothers: Alonza Brown, Sr. (Carol), Willie Brown (Paulette), Reverend Cleveland Brown, Sr. (Crystal), and Pastor Clinton Brown, Sr. (Donna); 28 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren, a life-long friend Hubert Dunston (Portia), and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bonnie Brown Wilson To Paulette and Family. A leaf have fallen from our Family Tree and we are sad. We offer you our deepest condolences from our hearts!
