Renee Adale White was called home to eternal rest on July 28, 2017. Born into a family of seven siblings on June 19, 1956 in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the youngest child of the late Joseph and Queen Yarbrough. Renee was educated in the Norfolk Public School System and received an Associate Degree in Office Management from Norfolk State University. As a child and young adult, Mrs. White grew up in Jerusalem Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. She later became a member of Victory Life Outreach in Hampton, VA. For the last several years, she was a faithful attendee and servant at Grove Baptist Church located in Portsmouth, VA. Mrs. White held a special place in her heart for children and her desire to help in developing their minds was truly a gift from God and with this calling, she owned and managed White’s Home Daycare for over 20 years. She touched the lives of children from 3 months to teenage. Her parents and three sisters (Sarah, Wilhelmina and Margarite) predeceased her. Left to carry on her legacy , her husband of 38 years, Leland White, two daughters and one son, Renee Gilliam of Goldsboro, NC, Michelle White of Portsmouth, VA and Leland White, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; her grandchildren, Terrance Gilliam, Anasia Simmons and Za’Karee Taylor. Also cherishing her memories are her sisters Kimberly Y. Townes of Portsmouth, Arnetta Y. Johnson of Bridgeport, CT and a brother Joseph V. Yarbrough of Philadelphia, PA; a host of nieces and nephews and other loving relatives.

Cyndi Brown By love she is remembered, and she will live in my memory. I will always remember the special person Renee was. She touched many people. God called home a true gem. She will be missed.

Jackson Family Our condolences and prayers to Leland Sr., Renee, Michelle, Leland Jr. and family....your tears are our tears. My husband, son and I (military family) transferred to Virginia, and became part of the White Family tree. Renee & Leland are godparents to sons Jamal and Javaun. We will miss your earthly presence soooo much Renee Adale, but your smile and your love will burn brightly in our hearts forever. We love you so very much! Sleep in heavenly peace Angel! And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) i carry your heart with me (By E. E. Cummings) i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart) i am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing my darling) i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
