Helen Jones Harris, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017, at her home in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was born March 14, 1932, in Norfolk, Virginia. Helen was the only daughter of the late Mary Jones. Helen lived and worked in Norfolk, Virginia, for most of her life, but later moved to Portsmouth, Virginia, where she lived with her oldest son, Jimmie Harris. She was preceded in death by her only daughter, Elizabeth. She leaves to cherish her memory five sons: Jimmie; Melvin; Larry (Marie); Michael (Cheryl); and Ronald (Chrystal); more than 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

Michael Campbell Michael, Cheryl and Family, I'm sorry to hear of your mother (Ms Helen's) passing. Your mother was a neighborhood mother to many of us growing up. Her watchful eyes kept us on the straight and narrow. Thank you for sharing her with us. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Mike Campbel
