Gracie Elizabeth White entered the world on November 9th, 1944 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernice and Andrew Privott. Gracie entered her rest on April 18th 2017. Reared in a Christian household, Gracie’s love for the lord permeated every aspect of her life. Gracie received her education at Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, VA. Gracie was married to the late Edward White. May 9th, 1963, when she moved to Chicago, IL, while in Chicago she was a very active political lead in her community. Gracie returned to Norfolk, VA where she worked for Norfolk Public Schools, Parks and Recreation as a volunteer, Boddie-Noell Enterprises Inc, and Walmart. She joined Garrett Community Baptist Church in 1975. She was a choir member, worked on the Kitchen Ministry, on the Usher Board, Pastor Aide Committee, First Lady Aide, and she catered for venues all over the Tidewater area. Gracie was a member of Grandy Park Civic League as a Treasurer for over 10 years. She leaves to treasure her memory her beloved seven children Cliffton Privott(Selena) of Norfolk, VA, Felicia Cheatham (late Eddie Cheatham) Baltimore, Maryland, Perassa Porter (Eddie Porter) of Chesapeake, Roshanda Griffin of St. Louis, Salathiel White (Donita White) of Virginia Beach, Raytron L. White of Norfolk, VA, Tonya Harley of Norfolk, VA, special Granddaughter Brandy Hayward, eighteen Grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren; siblings Thelma Holley, Bernice Barnes, Annie Mae Ryland, Sarah Pyatt (Charles) and a host of nieces and nephews. Gracie loved the church and the Lord. She also had a great love for the children in the communities of Norfolk and throughout the Hampton Roads area. Gracie had a sense of adventure and lived life to the fullest. Her smile illuminated every room she entered! Not a person of pretense, Gracie had a loving and giving spirit. She accepted people as they were and embraced people from all walks of life! Gracie was a good listener, secret and confidence keeper, and a sheltering friend. She enjoyed singing, shopping, and the San Francisco 49ers! Gracie is now with the Lord donning blinged-out wings and lavender high heels.

Linds To the Family. Losing a love one in death is a trying time for all. I just want to give the family some comfort and hope from God's word, which gives the assurance that one day we will see our dear love ones again. ACTS 24:15 And I have a hope toward God, which hope these(men) themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteuos and the unrighteous. Certainly while we await for these wonderful promise, I hope the family truly find comfort knowing this wonderful hope from Gods word.
