Mable Shirley Jones was born in Norfolk, Virginia on January 12, 1938, to the late Bernard and Maria Butler. She made a peaceful transition into the flow of eternal life on July 18, 2017. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Mabel was preceded in death by; her brothers, George Butler and Bernard Butler, Jr.; sisters, Mildred Mayo, Addie Wilson, Dorothy Mae Skinner and Ruth Lee and sons, Morris Jones, Jr. and Tyrone Jones. Mable Shirley Jones worked in hospitality for several years. She was a faithful member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She loved God and professed Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. This dynamic diva loved to share her faith with people. It was her faith that gave her the strength to fight the good fight. She leaves to cherish her memory; former husband, Morris Jones, Sr.; her children, Juanita Jones, Chester Jones, Anita Jones Yancey (Alvin), Christopher Jones and David Jones; brother, Chester L. Butler; twenty grandchildren; thirty nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
