Interment-Private

7On July 2, 2017, the Lord called home one of His angels, Larry Matthews. He was born to the late, Clifton and Gertrude Matthews on November 30, 1950 in Norfolk, Virginia. As a child, he attended Bowling Park Elementary and Jacox Junior High School. As he began to change his life around, he began working with Jani-King as a floor tech and later in 2005, as a warehouse packer for CHKD Thrift Store. “L. A.” or “Smooth Clyde” as many knew him by, loved the game of chess, listening to old school music, and he was a die-hard DALLAS COWBOYS FAN. Larry was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend. He leaves behind to cherish his greatest memories: four children, Larry Rodgers, Shawn Rodgers (deceased), Chaundaline Fincher, and Christopher Rodgers; six brothers and sisters, William Matthews (deceased), Allen Davis, Clifton, Clara, Vicky, and Terry Matthews; two special nieces, Valerie Baily and Katrina Outlaw, a host of family and friends, and a special friend, Jackie Mayo. “Smooth Clyde” will truly be missed.

Janet Vicky & family. So sorry I am not able to be with you guys for Larry's Celebration of Life. Nevertheless, please know I am praying with you all that God will give you the strength needed during this time. Love You. Janet
