Morton Elementary and Hayden High School. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1974. In 1978 Rickey graduated from Norfolk State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. He later received his Masters of Social Work also from Norfolk State University. One of Rickey’s proudest accomplishments came in May of 2010 when he became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Rickey enjoyed exercising, reading, listening to talk radio and watching football. Rickey accepted Christ as his savior at the age of 18. Rickey is known for his love of God’s word, his memory of scripture and his faith and positive attitude. After his conversion, Rickey joined East End Church of God, where he remained until 1992. In December 1982 Rickey met Evelyn whom he called “the love of his life.” They were married in August of 1983. To this union were born four children: Rickey Brandon (Benita), Justin Corey, Stephanie Danielle and Brian Caleb. Rickey was the proud grandfather of Michael and Joshua Willis. Rickey joined Calvary Revival Church in 1993. He served with his wife as a teacher in the Christian Education Department. He later became a member of the Counseling Department. Rickey was known as a hard worker. He was employed with Christian Psychotherapy Services and Lassiter & Associates as a marriage/family counselor. He also helped to oversee the in-home counseling program RIZE LLC. Rickey also served as a consultant with Western Tidewater Community Services Board. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Rickey leaves to cherish his memory his father Jesse Austin, one sister and close friend Jeanette Austin, and three brothers: Jessie “Pete” Austin (Phyllis), Lindsey Austin (Joan) and Calvin Austin (Alease), of Franklin, Virginia and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and close family friends.

Josh King He was a wonderful man. Just hard to believe such a wonderful man as him is gone. He will be surely missed by many people. May his family be comforted at this time.

Your Sister in Christ, Amanda Battle-Boone To: Evelyn, Rickey, Justin, Stephanie and Brian, Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants The late Bishop G.E. Patterson sang a song “My record will be there, be its pages dark or fair - when I stand before that judgment bar and the books will be open wide in that morning by and by -Oh my record- Yes my record it will be there”, Evelyn, Rickey’s record will be there and at this moment he surrounds us with a great cloud of witnesses cheering us to our heavenly home. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. The song proclaims “In the morning when I rise, I wanna rise holy when I rise. Rickey rest now in the arms of the almighty one and may God be with you until we meet again. Evelyn I do not know how it feels to lose a husband but I know this for sure Rickey’s God your God and my God will carry you through the shadows of death. The song writer writes ask the savior to help you, comfort, strengthen and keep you. He is willing to aide you HE will carry you through. Isaiah 40:31 says..but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint. My prayers and love are with you during this weeping season Your sister in Christ Mrs. Amanda Battle-Boone
