Billy Lee Lassiter transitioned from his earthly life in his home on January 25, 2018. He was born to the late Augustus Lee Lassiter Sr. and Fannie Mae Perkins Lassiter on March 8, 1950. Bill was educated in the Norfolk City Public Schools system and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Bill retired from Sentara where he was employed for 28 years. He is survived by two sisters; Barbara A. Spruill and Melody Lassiter of Chesapeake, Virginia. A sister in law; Sharon Lassiter (Gus) of Norfolk, Virginia and his maternal aunt Pastor Mary Woodhouse (Thomas) of Chesapeake, Virginia. He was predeceased in death by his parents Augustus Lee and Fannie Mae Lassiter, two brothers Augustus “Gus” Lassiter , Joseph Lassiter and a sister in law Jacqueline Lassiter. Bill leaves 10 nieces and nephews, 27 great nieces and nephews and 3 great great nieces and nephews to cherish his memories. He leaves behind a host of cousins, extended family members and friends. Bill was known and affectionately called “Billy Boy” by his family. Bill was a kind person who extended love and will always be remembered for helping anyone in need. His family meant everything to him and he can be quoted as saying that he had everything he needed in this life. One of his favorite things to do was travel. He envisioned a life of traveling and exploring after his retirement. His fondest memory is playing dodgeball with his mother. Bill’s favorite song was “Get Right With God." His quiet and reserved demeanor will be missed by those who knew him.

SONJA LASSITER Uncle Bill you will be missed by many. The boys and I will always cherish the memories we had of you. Thank you for being a father and grandfather figure to us. Although we are saddened to see you depart from this earthly life we rejoice in knowing you lived a good life. You were the perfect example of showing us what it meant to help those in need. Farewell Uncle Bill....until we meet again.
