Minnie L. Cobb, known to her family as “Dank”, transitioned from her earthly home on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, VA. She was born on August 22, 1931 in Spring Hope, NC to the late Cary Brown and Carrie Brown. She spent her early years in Spring Hope, NC where she attended public school, high school and local church. She later met and married the late William Cobb in Norfolk VA in 1952. Minnie worked a great deal of her life as the senior housekeeper at the Naval Base, San Diego, California and returned to Norfolk, VA in May 1987 to be closer to her family. Dank was a kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. Dank loved watching TV, movies, sports, soaps operas, Ellen, and various game shows. Dank was extremely proud of her daughter and grandchildren plus traveled several time zones to spend time with them throughout the years. Dank was a diehard Redskins fan, adored listening to music, loved to attend concerts and outdoor jazz festivals with her daughter. She was preceded in death by her sister Deloris West (Henry). Dank leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her beloved, loving, and dedicated daughter of 69 years, Linda Lee Greene. She is also survived by her grandsons Marvallier Gordon, Rahshaan Greene (Buffy), Shaivius Greene, two great-grandchildren Candice Turner and Lashondra Greene. She is also survived by two sisters Nancy Branch, Betty McCoy (David); one brother James Brown (Alverta). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends along with Dank’s caregiver, Valerie Kenny, who became a special family member for her as her health declined and needed special care.

Cubby & Susie West Linda, sorry to hear of Dank's passing...Losing a Mom is one of the hardest things one must go thru in life. We pray for your comfort. Know that we love you!!

Jeannie and Jackie Gregg Shann, we are so sorry in the loss of Grandmother. I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.

Nicky Sending heartfelt condolences to the Cobb family. May you gain comfort from Revelation 21:4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
