Gerald Marable was born on March 11, 1959 in Norfolk VA to the proud parents of Gloria Braxton and John Braxton Jr. After being educated by the Norfolk Public School system, Gerald later joined the military (Army). Being in the military allowed Gerald to travel the world and meet friends who he remained in contact with until his passing. After proudly serving his country, Gerald was honorably discharged from the US Army in 1986. Gerald also GRADUATED from Norfolk State University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology……………………BEHOLD, THE GREEN AND GOLD. To know Gerald was to love Gerald. He was always the life of the party. He made you laugh from the moment he entered the room until the moment he left. He was one of the original kings of comedy and the #1 Dallas Cowboys fan. His silly jokes, pranks and hilarious impersonations will surely be missed. Gerald loved his family and his family loved him more. He leaves to cherish his memory, his #1 girl in the world, him mother, Gloria Braxton, father, John Braxton Jr. Three sisters, Angelita Marable (Fayetteville, NC), Deidre Braxton Bailey (Larry), Norfolk VA, Schnetta Braxton, Norfolk, VA. A brother, Reginald Johnson (Benita), Norfolk VA, one aunt, Kathyrn Hines, Norfolk, two nieces, Felicia Marable-Williams (Anthony), Illinois, Breagan Bailey, (Oklahoma), One nephew, Brehon Bailey, (Norfolk), one great niece, Brianna Bailey. His #1 undisputed favorite cousin, Claudette Johnson and a host of many cousins and friends including his special friend and love, Shirley Bass.

Breagan Bailey I never thought I'd see the day when my favorite uncle wouldn't be here anymore. Holidays will never be the same without you. I love you Uncle Gerald, from your "Breagan Boo" You always called me that, I'll never forget. Rest up, we'll take care of grandma for you.
