Lawrencia Nokamis Pollard-was born in Richmond at the Medical College of Virginia on November 8th, 1967. She went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 25th, 2018. She received her education in the school Systems of Columbus, Chillicothe, Ohio and Chesterfield County, VA. She was a graduate of Matoaca, High School, class of 87. She attended Norfolk State University and received a B.A. in Mass Communications. Rencie as she was lovingly called by her family lived her adult life in the Tidewater area. She worked as a casual at the post office, the SECEP Program and with Norfolk Public Schools as a para professional for several years at Booker T. Washington High School. She followed in her father’s footsteps by working with the mentally challenged. Rencie was blessed with the birth of her daughter LaNeisha. LaNeisha was the apple of her mother’s eye. She considered being a mother one of her greatest accomplishments. Lawrencia had a good heart and helping people almost to a fault. She had a passion for BINGO, playing cards and eating, with seafood being her favorite. She was member of The NAACP for fifteen years and a chief at the Union Chapel voting sight for many years. Lawrencia preceded in death by her mother, Nokomis Pollard. Lawrencia is survived by her one and only loving daughter, LaNeisha Dickens; Father, Lawrence Pollard, Jr.; two brothers, Lawrence Pollard III, Leonard Pollard and host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Our mom, daughter, sister, and friend will be missed deeply.
