TDear Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend we watched you struggle and slowly fade away. Through our love, we tried to make you stay. God who watches from above, knows how to share his love. God knew the road was getting heavy and rough. The hills were hard to climb, so he whispered gently in your ear and said peace be mine and peacefully closed your eyes. We thank God for blessing us with you. Mr. Theodore Joseph Washington was the son of the late Edward and Lottie Washington. He was born in Portsmouth, VA on October 24th, 1957. His kind heart and weary body found rest beyond the rivers on July 10th, 2017 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA. Theodore was a loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Loyal Friend to many. He enjoyed playing board games, baseball and listening to Jazz music. Theodore, was a licensed Barber in the State of VA. He often spent time with young children in the neighborhood teaching them how to play baseball and ride their bikes. Theodore would often give free haircuts to the young boys in the neighborhood. He loved animals and his favorite dog was named Ghost. He was predeceased by his brothers Edward B Washington and Clinton Washington of Portsmouth, VA. Theodore leaves to cherish his memory; one daughter, Shakita Lachelle Williams of Portsmouth, VA; two grandchildren; one grandson, Ahzonte Nathiel Williams; one granddaughter, Ahziya Auriet Brown of Portsmouth, VA; three sisters, Patricia Washington of Portsmouth, VA, Debra Washington of Chesapeake, VA and Teresa Washington of Chesapeake, VA; two brothers, William Washington of Portsmouth, VA and Benjamin Calvin Washington of Suffolk, VA.

Nikki I'm very sorry for your loss. May the God of tender mercies (Psalm 83:18)strengthen you for the days ahead, Psalm 29:11..The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
