I am at peace, my soul’s at rest there is no need for tears for with your love I was so blessed so please don’t cry for me…I’m at peace. Robert Lee Thompson (Goldfingers) born August 8, 1940 in Bertie, North Carolina to the late Mary T. Jekins and Johnnie Roosevelt Thompson. He obtained his education in Bertie County Schools Systems. He met and married his wife in Portsmouth, VA. From that union they had two daughters. Robert lived most of his life as a hard working man. He was employed by Puryear Trucking Company for 15 years and Winkleman Construction Company for 6 years paving the streets and highways. He also auto detailed and washed cars for Charlie Faulk and Family Car Wash. Robert had a passion for Nascar and Drag Racing. He loved to watch Judge Mathis, his wresting, dancing and cutting a rug to his reggae music. Robert’s favorite saying was “you live longer if you drink deer park water, ensure and smoke cannabis everyday.” He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 57 years, Margie Thompson; two daughters, Yvette Thompson and Alisia Etheridge; one step daughter, Teresa Wiggins; nine grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren; one favorite niece, Kishi Pittman; one special son-in-law, Donovan Liles; two special friends, Lawanna Childs and David Casper (Duke); five sisters-in-law, and five brothersin- law and a host of relatives and friends.
