Tisby Rebecca McLeary Billups born April 12, 1926 the daughter of the Late Ransom McLeary Sr. and Susanna Singleton McLeary in Sumter County, South Carolina. She was the widow of Lee Grant Billups, Sr. She departed this life on November 2, 2017. Tisby joined Allen Chapel AME Church in Sumter, South Carolina at an early age where she served faithfully. She moved to Chesapeake, Virginia in 2003 to live with her devoted daughter Barbara and son in-law Vernon until her demise. Left to cherish her memories is one daughter, Barbara Brown (Vernon); one sister, Susanna Charles (Josh); six grandchildren, Raquel Porter, Tonya Porter of Jersey City, NJ, Vernon Brown and Tanika Brown of Chesapeake, VA, Lee Grant Billups II of Randallstown, MD, and Tommy Billups (Krystal) of Owing Mills, MD; fourteen great grandchildren, Kentera Porter, Rashawn Porter, Ashley Porter, Ja-Vonia Porter, Faith Porter, Ciara Porter, Ra’Nesha Porter of Jersey City, NJ, Jediah Motley of Chesapeake, VA, Leshae Billups of Charleston, SC, LeQuan Grant Billups, Jermiah Lee Billups, and Elijah Billups of Newark, NJ, Joshua Mekhi Billups and Madison Corrine Billups of Owing Mills, MD; four great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Tisby is preceded in death by a daughter, Rosa Porter; a son. Lee Grant Billups II; three sisters, Lyndell McLeary, Corine Butler, Martha Salisbury; four brothers, David McLeary, Pinckney McLeary, Richard McLeary and Edward McLeary.
