Lee Barnes, Jr., 89, slipped into eternal rest on Saturday, November 18, 2017. He retired from the Norfolk School Board after 30 years of service. In addition to this, he also retired as a foster parent. He was a faithful member of Disciples of Jesus Christ, where he served on the deacon board, and was a former member of Antioch Baptist Church. Left to cherish his precious memories are his devoted wife, Thelma Barnes; two sons, Edward Barnes and Johnny Barnes; three daughters, Sarah Belt, Loretta, Bernadela and Angela Davis (Irvin); grandchildren, great grandchildren, one sister, other relatives and friends.

L To the family I offer my sincerest condolences. Here are two comforting thoughts from the Bible that I hope will bring your family some comfort. John 5:28, 29 tells us the resurrection hope is real and Revelation 21:3, 4 assures us of God’s promise that death will be done away with in the near future of mankind.
