Arcelious White Sr. passed away Saturday December 16, 2017 quietly in his sleep in the loving arms of his wife and best friend of sixty-six years Frances White in their home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Son of James D. White and Rose Elliot- of Churchland Virginia, “Booley” a nickname he picked up during his youth proved to be an accomplished athlete excelling in Track and Field, Basketball, Football and Baseball, he achieved Four Letter Man status at Cortland High School which eventually culminated in his nomination to be inducted into the Negro Hall of Fame in Portsmouth, Virginia. His athlete abilities landed him a Scholarship at Fayetteville University and later Shaw University, in North Carolina, where he was scouted to play professional baseball in the Minor League for the Baltimore Orioles. However, he decided that being married and raising a family was more important, so he returned home and played baseball with a semi-pro baseball team – The Norfolk Merchants. “White” as he was called on the job, served faithful for 36 years as a United States Postal Carrier assigned to the Wright Station Post Office located at Wards Corner, Norfolk and retired from the Main Post Office located on Church Street in Norfolk, Virginia. Business Owner and entrepreneur, he had an idea to open a restaurant that was inviting that focus on good old country cooking at an affordable price. “If the food is good, people will come” that is what he would say and he did just that, he opened the “Tastee Barbeque Restaurant” it was a friendly place where people came together, had a good meal, a good laugh and listen to the music of the times, White’s loud and bellowing laughter, his poke and joke and razzle dazzle rhyming added to the bombastic personality that was him. When - just “resten and dressen” was not enough for him, he went back to work and later retired from the Virginian Pilot Newspaper. He loved being around people, laughter and believed that no one should be hungry and that there is goodness in everyone. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed. He is survived by Frances D. White, Arcelious White Jr. of Suffolk, Va. (Sandra White), Brenda C. Case of Va Beach, Va. (Milford Case), Renay A. Clarke of Fremont, NC, Donnell L. White of Las Vegas, Nevada (Jackie T.
