In the evening hours of December 19, 2017, GOD saw his daughter, Ella R. Barrow, getting tired, so he put his arms around her and whispered, “Come to Me” my good and faithful servant. She departed this life surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Scranton, North Carolina on February 20, 1928. Ella was one of four children born to the late Hatton and Mary Morris and the beloved wife of the late David Barrow, Sr. for over 46 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two sisters, Naomi Pritchard and Lillie Mae Morris; brother, Willie Morris; daughter, Drenia Barrow; two sons, David Barrow, Jr. and Larry Barrow; and step-daughter, Nettie Mae Simms. Ella retired from the Norfolk Naval Base as a Sterile Processing Technician. Her most important job was taking care of her 8 loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was an intricate part of our lives . . . a praying mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and a great-great grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Mary Jones, Gloria Roberts, and Theresa Black of Portsmouth, VA; two sons, James Barrow and Alonzo Barrow of Portsmouth, VA; two stepsons, William Barrow of Waldorf, MD and James Ellis of Norfolk, VA; niece, Mary Harris of Alexandria, VA; two nephews, David Morris and William Morris of Alexandria, VA; 14 grandchildren including Joyce Roberts who cared for her; 28 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; along with other family and friends who were blessed to know her.

Danielle Sending heartfelt condolences at this time of need. God yearns for the day to turn your tears of sadness into permanent tears of joy, Revelation 21:4
