On Sunday, January 7, 2018, Margaret Jones was called Home to her eternal rest. She was born September 16, 1935 in Norfolk Virginia to Elnora Brown and Nathaniel Jones. Margaret graduated from Booker T. Washington High School where she studied music in the high school. She joined Garrett’s Community Church where she loved signing in the choir. Her voice was described as a beautiful mockingbird. She later united with First Baptist Church of Lambert’s Point. After her health started to fail, she attended worship service at the recreation room at her resident apartment. Margaret’s only occupation was being a mother to her three children who she referred to as Peddie, Tookie and Rosie. There was no other pleasure that she enjoyed more than being a mom. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Donald, and her two daughters Gay and Lori, seven grandchildren Korré, Chase, Colby, Ciara, Ashley (Jorge), Tra’vis, and Spencer, and one great grandchild Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, James, Junius, and Sherman, and her three sisters, Helen Reeves, Wilda Mae Parks, and Vivian Ford. Her two godsons Benjamin and Timothy Lenard, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cynthia Kellam No one can replace your mom, but God can comfort your heart. He knows what you need during this time much better than anyone else. There’s a special place in all of our hearts for our mothers, just like there’s a special place in every mother’s heart for her children. You must continue to carry her memory in that special place in your heart. I am sincerely sorry for the loss of your mother.
