LaTonya Jean Drewitt Dudley, 44, better known as “Dee Dee” to her VA family and friends and “Tonya” to her FL family and friends, was born on March 20, 1973 in Norfolk, VA and entered eternal rest on March 19, 2018 in Sunrise, FL. She was the second oldest of three daughters (whom the other two lovingly referred to as “the favorite child”). LaTonya was a 1991 graduate of Granby High School. She later relocated to Fort Lauderdale, FL and while there, earned her Bachelor of Science (2005) and MBA (2007) degrees from the University of Phoenix. Prior to leaving the workforce, she held several positions, including Payroll Supervisor at Charter Schools USA. LaTonya loved to cook and enjoyed doing so, sometimes even during all hours of the night! Although she herself did not eat most of the foods she cooked, LaTonya took great pleasure in preparing meals and watching others savor every bite. She often posted pictures of her culinary skills as she was ever ready and willing to show the world that she knew how to get down in the kitchen. In addition to her food collages, “Paparazzi” (what we called her) was always snapping pictures of herself and others, whether you were ready or not. LaTonya leaves to cherish her memory her parents Chrystal Drewitt Cooper and Bennie (Barbara) Cooper of Norfolk, VA; three wonderful children whom she loved very much and would do anything for, Lacreasha Johnson, Emanuel Dudley and Elijah Dudley-Windett of Fort Lauderdale, FL; three grandsons, Andrew, Jr., Kaleel and Jameel Johnson of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two sisters, Donya Drewitt of Elizabeth City, NC and Kimberly (Phillip) Cooper Harrell of Norfolk, VA; two special nephews, D’Andra Drewitt of Elizabeth City, NC and Phillip Harrell, Jr. of Norfolk, VA. LaTonya was predeceased by her biological father, Sandy Boykins, and through this relationship, she gained a “Bonus Mom” Delores Boykins of Norfolk, VA; her best friend Ce Celia Howard of Chesapeake, VA; a special sister-in-law, Patricia Peterson of Palm Beach, FL; a special friend, Clyde Dudley of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Dee Dee/Tonya, we all love and miss you dearly and promise that your children will never forget how much you loved them. Until we see you again, rest well beloved, rest well.

Lacreasha Johnson Still in disbelief...I saw you the Sunday night before you left us...the last thing I did was tease you about how you said yoohoo ( you pronounced it Yahoo) lol. I walk out the door not knowing that it would be the last time I saw you...I sometimes wish I could go back to that night and stay a little longer. I love you soo much and I will miss you dearly.

Ella (Mi'Chael) Horne Rest in peace my beloved Friend & God-Mother to my child (Zeary). I met you when you moved to Florida from Virginia. We became friends instantly. When I had my daughter, she became our daughter as you took on the role as her God-Mother. I will always be greatful for the love you gave my daughter as though she was your child from birth. You also spread your love to my entire family. You were always there to help any & everyone. There will be a tremendous void not being able to hear you laugh again. You loved holidays & birthdays. You loved family gatherings & loved to cook! I glad you're at peace now & able to truly rest. I love you LaTonya (Dee Dee) & will truly miss our girls night! My condolences to your Family. Especially your Mom. I can't begin to imagine the heartache & pain, but I pray for peace for your Mom & Family as they lay you to rest. Love Always - Mi'Chael

Bishop (Dr.) Ernest C. Dawson Dear Dudley Family, Grace and Peace be multiplied to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Human words are always inadequate in the face of unspeakable loss. There are no human words that can soothe the heart of a grieving parent, spouse or child. Our hearts go out to you as we join you in your grief. Do not despair, nor let your heart be troubled. Walk always in the bright light of joy with a heart filled with rejoicing. Do not grumble nor complain; but in everything be grateful and give thanks. For if there be any good things, think on them. Focus on the blessings God has showered your life with, especially with your departed love one. You may not always be able to control the circumstances that take place in your life; but you can always control what you think about. As Christians, we know this is not our real home. Christ conquered death for all of us-we will see our loved ones again. We grieve, yet through Christ we know our grief will turn to joy. And in the midst of our grief, we can join Job in saying, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth.” (Job 19:25 NKJV) Please remember that you are not alone-you have a Redeemer and a family in Christ. All of us at Rehoboth New Life Church share your sorrow at the loss of your Mother, Aunt and friend– Sister LaTonya. You shall always remember her spirit of hospitality and her way of making you feel loved. A God Sent Angel to the family. May the grace of our Redeemer, and the love of the Father, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit be with you. Yours in Christ, Rehoboth New Life Church Alliance...
