Bessie Lee McClendon, 81, went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2017 at Norfolk Health Care Center. She was born September 3, 1935 to the late Grace and Willie McClendon in Elberton, GA. Bessie is also predeceased by her grandson, Monta McNeal; son, Kelvin McClendon and a granddaughter. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Bessie was a member of New Life Worship Center where she was the Mother of the Church. She worked as a caregiver for 5 years. Bessie is survived by her daughters, Belinda Walker (Reynolds), Gloria Wilson and Sybil McClendon; sisters, Ruth McClendon of Norfolk, VA and Carolyn Levy of Philadelphia, PA; brothers, Thomas McClendon of Norfolk, VA; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.

Linda To the Family. Losing a love one in death is a trying time for all. I just want to give the family some comfort and hope from God's word, which gives the assurance that one day we will see our dear love ones again. ACTS 24:15 And I have a hope toward God, which hope these(men) themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteuos and the unrighteous. Certainly while we await for these wonderful promise, I hope the family truly find comfort knowing this wonderful hope from Gods word.
