Gayle Butts-Hayes was born on February 21, 1959 in Norfolk, Virginia to Evelyn Butts and the late Roland Griffin Jr. Gayle graduated from Norview High School in Norfolk, VA and attended Norfolk State University. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 39 years, Walter Donnell Hayes. Gayle was an active member of Faith Deliverance Christian Center where she faithfully expounded and taught the Word of God to disciples of Jesus Christ. Gayle’s ordained purpose in life was to use the gift God blessed her with for the glory of the kingdom. She was a biblical scholar who loved the Word of God, for which she was ordained and anointed with the gift of interpreting the scriptures to enlighten the people of God with His divine purpose for the expansion of His Kingdom on earth. In addition to her husband, Gayle is survived by her mother, Evelyn Butts, two sisters, Sheila Foreman, Terri Bach (Michael), a brother, Mark Butts (Ronetta) and sister- Aunt, Cheryl Andrews (Vance). Aunt Maxine Askew (Bennie), Lamoon Butts. Uncles: Phillip Butts, Ronald Butts, and the late Benjamin Butts. Six nieces: Shante, Cierra, Laila, Jaden, Stephanie, and Brittany two nephews Brandon and Delvin and many devoted cousins.

Edward Rollins Aunt Gayle. From the first day we were introduced we became good friends. We hung out together. We studied the word of God together. We always talked about the message the pastor had delivered. We shared laughter and good times. Then I moved to Ohio, but always kept you in my mind and heart. Now you are standing before the King and rejoicing. Well done auntie, well done.
