Ellen "Denise" Davenport Pearce, 56, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, March 30, 2017. Denise was born on March 11, 1961 to the late James Davenport Sr. and the late Ellen Smith Davenport. She attended Maury High School. Denise met Dale Burnett Pearce in 1981 and they became best friends and were inseparable. They were the proud parents of three sons: Dale R. Pearce, Cleveland D. Pearce, and Danual T. Pearce. Denise was a great and caring mother to her sons. The Lord also blessed the family with eight grandchildren and like her late husband, Dale, she loved her grandchildren very much and was always a major part of the activities in their lives. Denise was a lifelong Christian, joining Norview Baptist Church, Norfolk, VA during her early years and later Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk, VA. Denise had a very kind and helping demeanor. She was a very selfless person, always extending a helping hand to those in need.

Jessica Gibson Ms. Denise has always been a great friend to me. I worked with her at the Police Administration Building. She was always kind, loving, and she made me laugh. I am truly sorry to hear that she has passed away. I know she loved her husband, her three sons and her grandchildren. She always talked about them. Rest in Peace and Love always, Jessica
