On Wednesday, March 15, 2017, Mrs. Gracie L. Coleman formally of the 100 block of Bellamy Avenue, Norfolk, Virginia terminated the earthly tabernacle at her home in Georgia and made an eternal transition to God’s eternal habitation of rest. She was a native of Norfolk County. She was born on September 11, 1930 to the late Pauline George Rodgers. On March 23, 1951, the Alexander Coleman came into the life of Gracie George. She was a loving and good mother. She was always there when we needed her. We will greatly miss her. One daughter, Charlotte Mason preceded her in death. Survivors include one brother, John Polsen (Sandra); five daughters, Gracie Fowler (Johnny), Joyce Green, Pauline Sweatt (Floyd), Beatrice Coleman and Minnie Coleman, three sons, Hudell George (Barbara), Albert George (Elaine) and Alexander Coleman Jr. (Lottie); twenty grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
