Once again in His Devine Love, God called home to eternal rest Jennie Lee. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife. She slipped peacefully and quietly away on Saturday morning, July 29, 2017. Jennie, the only child born to the late Francis Gilliam and Leslie Cox on August 4, 1933 in Edenton, North Carolina. She received her formal education in the New York Public Schools. Her favorite was cooking for her family, playing family games as being the score keeper, and reading true crime books. Jennie was loved by her family and will be in their memories forever. She was a loving giving happy and outgoing person. Her family was very special to her and was always there when needed. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Edward Charles Lee, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories; daughters, Donita (Charles) and Laverne (Bernard, Sr.); six grandchildren, Bryan, Alisha (Keith), Kwame, Bernard, Jr. (Shamica), Steven and Emmanuel (Shayna); seven great-grandchildren, Ashli, SeQuan, Morgan, Jordan, Jonathan, Daniel and SaMaiya. A special grand-daughter, Beasia Smalley and step-son, Michael Harris. Jennie lived a full and blessed life. She will truly be missed by her entire family, and a host of loved ones and friends.

Henry Benton I am so sorry for the families loss. I could only describe Aunt Jenny as the person with an open ear and an understanding heart. I was unable to make it to the service, but my heart is with you all.

Gwendolyn Elliott Lieteau Mere words can never express the sorrow I feel in my heart at the passing of my cousin Jennie.She has been a rock and pillar in her family, she is and will always be loved by the lives of those she touched.
