On the evening of February 23, 2018, our beloved “Kool- Aid” entered into an eternal rest with the Lord. Tony Kelvin “Kool-Aid” Green was born on September 15, 1963, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to Marion Green and James Everette. With a strong family rooted in Christ, Tony also loved the Lord. At an early age, he became a member of Third Baptist Church. While away from home, Tony was able to successfully complete the requirements to receive his General Education Diploma. He became fascinated with the love of culinary arts. He worked in the kitchen at Saint Brides Correctional Facility. Always looking to lend a helping hand or give a comforting smile, “Kool-Aid” was loved by all the employees. During his time away, he became an activist for the injustice of inmates. Often writing letters to the Governor of Virginia and other lawmakers, he fought for the change in living conditions for inmates. Before his death, Tony was working on a collection of poems, prayers, and short stories that he hoped to be published one day. Tony was a proud Redskins fan and was loved by all who knew him. Although he had no children, he was an amazing brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald T. Green; his mother Marion Green; and his father, James Everett. He leaves to cherish his memory: his sisters Charlene Allen, Joyce Green, Nikki Hayes- Jones (Christopher), LaTasha Walker (Greg) all of Portsmouth, Virginia; Brenda Everette (R.T) of Como, NC; and Phyllis Peoples of Murfreesboro, NC. His brothers: James Green of Portsmouth, Virginia; Franklin Green of Hampton, Virginia; James Hayes (Kim) of Maryland; Reginald Peoples of New Orleans; and Bruce Peoples (Celeste) of Murfreesboro, NC. Tony had many nieces and nephews but he had a very special great niece, Londyn Allen that he loved as his own. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. “Kool- Aid” was a gentle giant with an infectious smile and a good heart. He will be forever missed by his loved ones and his “Queen Street” family.

Veronica Jones To the “Family of a Gentle Giant with a Contagious Smile,” May God give you comfort as you mourn for “Mr. Kool-Aid.” May God comfort his “Queen Street Family,” as they too loss a family member! Our ministry had many opportunities to share God’s love with “Mr. Kool-Aid” and his “Queen Street Family!” He was always grateful for our visits and made sure everyone showed their gratitude, as well! He solicited prayers and encouraged others to join in! We were very saddened to hear about his death. Please stay encouraged and continue to rely on God for His comfort! “God’s Extended Hands Evangelistic Ministry”

Dab I'm sorry for your great loss. Saying goodbye isn't easy for those whom we love oh so much.He sounded like a very loving person who will be greatly missed. Christs has promised to reunite us with our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death, by means of the resurrection, John 5:28,29 and our Heavenly Father has promised that our enemy death will be brought to nothing, 1 Corinthians 15:26. May these verses bring comfort, peace and strength.
