Thelma Larvet Harris, affectionately called by her middle name, “Larvet,” was born December 16, 1957 and she was the proud daughter of Vernice and Willie Rodgers. On Monday, December 26, 2011, God dispatched his angels to bring home one of his children, our beloved Larvet. Larvet was reared in Norfolk, Virginia and educated in the Norfolk Public School System and graduated from Maury High School. She was previously employed by Hill Haven at Norfolk Naval Base. She later pursued a nursing career and for the past fifteen years, she has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She held nursing positions at Autumn Care-Chesapeake, Autumn Care Norfolk, and Virginia Beach Healthcare. Larvet was a hardworking and dedicated employee. Larvet had a passion for family. She loved traveling and going to New York on shopping sprees. She loved to read, and she loved trying to keep up with her brother, Ricky. She loved to cook. Larvet loved life and lived it to the fullest. One of Larvet’s greatest accomplish-ments is that she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour. She leaves to cherish her memory: her parents, Vernice and Willie D. Rodgers of Chesapeake, VA, daughter, Ashley Harris, of Chesapeake, VA, one son,Elliott (“EJ”) Harris, Jr., of Chesapeake, VA, one sister, Kim Love (Grady), of Chesapeake, VA, two brothers, Ricky Rodgers and Corey Rodgers (Latisha), all of Chesapeake, VA, dear friends, LaVersa, Pat, Lisa, Pam, Teresa, Loretta, and Arlene; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Nadia Bass Chambers Isaiah 53:4 Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows. IN DEEPEST SYMPATHY Although it has been years since I have worked with "Larvet", I can remember her smile, her laugh, her "get-it-done" attitude, her work ethic & the love she had for her residents at ACN! Thank you Lisa for being her "ace-boon" & letting me know. May God keep YOU & your family too. May the Lord, who carries your sorrows, bring comfort to your heart, calmness to your spirit and healing to your soul.

J Pierce Please accept my condolence for your loss and may you find comfort in the words found at Revelation 21:3,4: With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
