James Riddick departed this life of September 28, 2017. He was born on April 24, 1947 to the late William Henry and Sarah Frances Riddick of Norfolk County (Chesapeake) Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Clara Griffin; first wife, Cellory Riddick and grandson, Raja Bradford. Called Bay, J.R. or Rip by his family and friends, James was reared in the Fentress section of Chesapeake. The 1965 graduate of Crestwood High School, served three tours of duty in Vietnam as an Army medic. He was a retired letter carrier. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Connie and twelve children, Maria Gregory (VA), Darryl Banks (TX), Takiyah Riddick (GA), Rhonda Bradford (Jason), James Jr., Jurmaii, Msiba Fambro (Donny), Mansa, Jonnel, Aisha McGee (Isaiah), Ebonee and Ankoma all of California. He also leaves over forty grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; three brothers, William (Lynette), Michael (Mona), Larry (Vivian), two aunts, Ellie Mae Simon (VA) and Lucille Washington (PA), a longtime friend, Burma; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
