Rosa Lassiter-Broadnax, 90, passed away on February 26, 2018 surrounded by family. Rosa was born on November 10, 1927 in Jackson, NC to Ora and William Lassiter. She was educated in North Carolina Public Schools and was a lifelong homemaker. A remarkable woman, Rosa was the community's mother. Loving and selfless, she never hesitated to open her home and heart to others. Quick witted and kind; she made an impression on everyone that she encountered. She will be dearly missed and warmly remembered by extended family members and friends spanning multiple generations. Some so close, she came to regard them as her children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Broadnax, Jr., her two oldest children, Richard Leon Lassiter and Virginia Dare Broadnax, her two sisters, Katherine Marrow and Mamie Smith; and three brothers, Arthur, Winifred, and George Lassiter. She will continue to dwell in the hearts of her surviving 7 children: James Broadnax (Libby), Paul Broadnax, Pauline Broadnax-Antomattei (Augustin), Jeanette Kimble, Patricia Lans (Anthony), Lorenzo Broadnax and Sandra McGee (Brian); her 13 grandchildren, Ayanna Sanders (Marlon), Larrie C. Johnson II (Crystal), Lakisa Satterfield, Colette Johnson, Paul Satterfield, Octavia and Ashley Yancey and Latonka King, Dominique Satterfield, Anthony Lans Jr., Ashley Lans, Otis Kimble Jr., and Deion Wright; her 23 great-grandchildren; Jasmine McGee, Myles and Morgan Sanders, Christian Lartey, Khalil Kelly, Parris Kimble, Langston and Lolani Johnson, Akela, Thomas, Asia, Ahmad, Hope, London, Dominique, Jozy and Adre’an Satterfield. Ariana and Tazar Yancey, Kmora and Amairiah Plummer, Mason Massey and Heaven Brown; 2 special nieces Catherine Carter and Minnie Lassiter and a host of extended family and dear friends. She leaves us with the lessons she taught, the laughter we shared and the love she gave.

Sandra Broadnax McGee It’s so hard to believe that our Mom is no longer here. There is a hole in our soul that mourns her absence.I talk to her daily and pray that she hears and see our love and pray it comforts her. We really miss you Mom😘 May God be with You.
