Shortly after, he began working for AMP (now TE Connectivity) as a designer in the engineering and production of automotive electronics. Darnell belonged to the Rolling Aces bowling club and competed in tournaments across the country. He was also a car enthusiast who travelled to car shows throughout the southeastern U.S. Darnell was predeceased by his mother and father, sister Venetia Drummond and brother, George Drummond III. He was a loving husband, devoted father, brother, and grandfather and mentor to many. Darnell's legacy will be cherished and passed along by his wife, Corlis Sellers-Drummond, daughter, Shelly Majette Carrington (Shawn Carrington, Sr.) of Virginia Beach, sister Sharlene Drummond of Atlanta, sister-in-law Betty Drummond, brother-in-law, Oliver Lasley, Jr. of Los Angeles, step children, Gwanda Majette (Virginia), Stephen Sellers and Adrienne Sellers (New Jersey), grandchildren, Treshawn Flowers, Jabria Carrington, Shawn Carrington, Jr., Layla Sellers and great granddaughter Trinity. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Carolyn Pittman There are no perfect words to lessen your sadness and grief, but for those who knew Darnell, there are many words to speak of the special person he was, yet few words to say goodbye! You and the family are in my prayers.

Donnell C. Alston, Alumni President, BTW Class of 1969 To Corlis, Shelly and the Drummond Family: Our hearts were crushed when we heard of Darnell's passing. He meant so much to us. Our prayers are with you as you face the difficult days ahead. We will forever cherish his memory. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. ~ Romans 14:8
