Carmazine Lyndell McPherson passed away on January 21, 2018. She was born to Martha Johnson and the late Roland Williams on August 30, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York. Later becoming the step-daughter of the late Alford Johnson, she had the opportunity to travel up and down the east coast with the US Navy with her sister and brothers. Their family military travels landed them in Virginia which is where she stayed and met her late husband, Frederick McPherson, her best friend, working at Dixie Manufacturing Company. Even though she studied accounting early in life, Dell decided to take a new route and went to the apprenticeship school for pipefitting at Norshipco. Being one of the only woman in the shop, she quickly became part of the crew and gained the nickname “Dellicious”. When it came to career choices, she was known for going from one extreme to another and later in life she decided to become a preschool teacher. Dell spent the last 5 years working at the Goddard School in Yorktown. She truly enjoyed making an impact in the lives of “her little people”, she affectionately called them. Even though she could sometimes be described as timid and a little quite, Dell had a heart of gold, always willing to help someone. She was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and self-proclaimed to be their #1 fan. Her cancer battle was made easier when she found out her oncologist was close friends with Jason Garrett, this gave them a special bond. Once finishing her first round of chemotherapy, their bond showed true when she received an autograph hat, picture, and personal note from Jason Garrett. Dell leaves behind her daughter, Ashley McPherson Kelley and her adopted son, Jolan Randall. Nevering being called a grandmother (according to her, she was too sexy) she was the Mimi to Ashia, Alayah and Lathan Kelley. She leaves to mourn her, 1 sister, Annette Johnson from South Carolina, 2 brothers, Delton Johnson from Georgia and Alford Johnson from Nevada; goddaughter Tanisha and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Myra Thompson My deepest condolences for the lost of your mom Dale her memories and her smile will always live on. Love you, Cousin Myra from Brooklyn, NY
