On Friday morning January 26, 2018, Annie Elaine Wood Brown departed this life to be with our Heavenly Father. Annie the eleventh daughter of Alfred and Elnora Wood of Madison Heights Virginia was born Christmas Eve 1933. Oh, What a wonderful Christmas Present!! As She grew up as a teenager, Annie joined and became a member of Rose Chapel Baptist Church. Later Annie graduated from Madison Heights High School and matriculated into Virginia Seminary and College to graduate with an Associate of Arts degree. She later Matriculated in Virginia State University as a Library Science major where she graduated with the Bachelor of Science degree. In 1959 Annie was offered her first teaching job at G.W. Carver High School Elkton, Maryland. This is the place where she and Dr. Ernest Brown met and married. This union produced two sons, Ernesto J. Brown, an Electronics Engineer and Keith Lafayette Brown, deceased, an Architecture-Urban Studies major. Annie has seveal adopted children: Dr. Sheila McDonald, Dr. Eric Crawford, Michael Jones and Daryl Pretlow. Annie is survived by her only sister, Hazel Thompson and brother Herman Wood. Annie has a host of nieces and nephews who loved and cherished her. She will be missed by the many friends at New Mt. Olive. Annie had a magnetic personality…... and many people loved her. Now she is absent from the body to be with the Lord! January 26, 2018

Phyllis Crudup Bryant Sister Annie Brown was a caring and loving friend. I shall truly miss her in New Mount AME Church where she was a dedicated servant in the work of the Lord. May God continue to bestow His blessings on Brother Ernest Brown and the Family. Please know that Sister Annie is now at Peace in the loving Arms of the Master of Heaven and Earth. To God be the Glory! Amen.
